I know this is something new me writing a book about how to do something, as I usually record these types of teaching or “Self Help” products as an audio CD like my “How Do I Do That Then ???” series of CD’s so this is a first for me writing things down, so I hope you enjoy the end result.
Over the last 20 years I seem to have been voted the official “High Tech Guy” of the Sceptre Promotions team without me knowing it, and many of you who have been to the festivals will know that for many years now I have done a “High Tech Q&A” teaching session two of the mornings at the festivals at Caister, Pakefield & Blackpool for many years on “Computers In Music” talking about sequencing packages and how we can all professional & home player, use them in our arrangements either on stage or in the home to build & improve our own musical arrangements.
This last September at Pakefield I wanted to do something a little different in one of the teaching sessions rather than talking again about the same subject which I had covered in the past, so instead of talking about sequencing packages again, we started talking about Ipod’s and their use in our everyday lives today and I got a huge response from people who where very confused by the whole subject, and at the “Keyboard Cavalcade Blackpool” festival this last May I did the first officially programmed “iTunes Master class” which I was very happy to see was very well attended.
Now many of you may be sitting there thinking I don’t have an Ipod in my life and I don’t own one, or you may not even know what an Ipod is and what it does.
A little funny personal story from my family, shortly before she passed away I bought my grandma an “iPod” so she could listen to her music more easily as she had difficulty getting up and putting on a record and loved her music, much to the delight of the nurses in the care home she loved it and I once caught her showing them how it worked, she was 97 at the time !! So it just goes to show you’re never too old.
This book will hopefully wet your appetite and get you interested in this wonderful world.
